Goals
The Oelwein Area United Way is a group of community volunteers whose objective is to improve the community and its surrounding area by providing support for a variety of health and social services. This shall be accomplished by a single fund raising campaign annually. The Oelwein Area United Way Board of Directors will be responsible for the allocation of these funds according to need. Our aim is simple: rally funds annually to distribute where they're needed most, strengthening our community's support network.
Fund Allocation
Our Board of Directors meticulously allocates funds based on community needs. Transparency is key!
Our intent is to provide a safe and secure environment for animals in our care. To analyze their health and enhance behavior where needed. To seek ultimate placement in a forever home which suports each animal's unique requirements.
Largest organization exclusively devoted to girls and women. The mission of Girl Scouting is to inspire girls with highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism & service to become resourceful citizens.
(Domestic Abuse Resource Center) Provides services, which include transportation, financial assistance, safe shelter and support groups to victims of domestic abuse.
Provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, where we celebrate each child's uniqueness and help each child become a lifelong learner.
Provides family services, 3 early childhood ed classrooms, weatherization, energy assistance, emergency utility programs, WIC, nutrition program, cooling assistance, adult basic ed, housing and crisis intervention.
Strives to meet changing needs of families and the community through support, education and referral services to empower and strengthen the family unit.
Provide healthy food options throughout the Oelwein area for those facing food insecurity.
Free confidential service for survivors of sexual assault. Includes 23-hour hotline, legal, medical & general advocacy, one on one therapy, counceling & support groups, professional training & violence prevention initiatives.
The program includes Puppet Pals and Two x Two Kindhearted Kids. All programs include instructions on the importance of a substance abuse free environment at the elementary level.

Our mission is to boost the organized capacity of people to care for one another, making our community stronger.
The Board of Directors allocates funds annually based on identified community needs.
We have a dedicated President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Drive Chairs leading our efforts.
Our fundraising campaign happens annually, serving as the primary source of support for our initiatives. The campaign will begin the 1st week of September and runs through the end of the year.
